An Introduction

St Joseph’s is a Catholic school whose central aim is to help children know, love, and serve God and their neighbour. Every aspect of our curriculum—both in content and in approach, especially in the teaching and practice of the Roman Catholic faith—is designed to support this mission.

Our Mission Statement

“To follow in Jesus’ footsteps, caring for each other when we work, play and pray.”

At St Joseph’s, everything we do is rooted in our faith and guided by the example of Jesus.

This mission shapes our daily life as a school family. It reminds us to:

  • Work with kindness and respect, always giving our best.

  • Play with joy and friendship, including and encouraging everyone.

  • Pray with faith and gratitude, keeping Christ at the centre of our lives.

By living out this mission together, we grow as a loving community where every child is valued, nurtured, and encouraged to become the person God is calling them to be.

Saint Joseph: Our Patron and Role Model

Saint Joseph, the husband of Mary and foster father of Jesus, is one of the most important figures in the Church. Though the Gospels tell us little about him, his life speaks volumes. Joseph was a man of deep faith, humility, and courage. He trusted God completely, even when things were uncertain, and he always protected and cared for his family.

At St Joseph’s, we look to him as a role model for how we should live:
  • Faithful – Joseph listened to God and followed His will with trust and obedience.
  • Caring – He loved and protected Mary and Jesus, showing us how to put others before ourselves.
  • Hardworking – As a carpenter, Joseph reminds us of the dignity of work and the importance of doing our best.
  • Humble – He lived quietly and simply, teaching us that greatness is found in service, not status.
Saint Joseph’s example inspires us as a school community to follow in Jesus’ footsteps - caring for one another when we work, play, and pray.
