We pray that by working together for our pupils and their families we continue to develop an excellent Catholic Education.
The Governor representatives of St Joseph’s aim to keep all our parents and carers informed of who we are, the various committees we sit on and what we do and give you an insight into the work that goes on in school.
Hopefully, this will give you a better understanding of the role of a ‘School Governing Body ‘ and perhaps some of you might think about volunteering yourself for this stimulating but, unfortunately, unpaid work!
We, as School Representatives, have legal duties, powers and responsibilities delegated from the Board of Directors of the ‘St John Paul II Multi-Academy’ that we must exercise as a body. No Representative can act individually.
If there is anything we can help you with, please don’t hesitate to contact us through the school.

Mr John Rudd

My name is John and I became a Foundation Governor in 2020. I wanted to be part of a local school community where I could help the children and the School as they strive to provide a fabulous all round education. Outside of this role I am an Accountant and I am also an assistant instructor at Shotokan Karate for 4 years old and upwards.

Mrs Rebecca James
Parent Governor
Hi, I’m Rebecca - I recently became a parent governor at St Jo’s. I’m an advocate for music and its many wonderful facets. I am particularly looking forward to supporting the St Joseph’s music coordinator in delivering a musical education accessible to all children.
Mrs Leonnie Bates
Staff Governor
I obtained my teaching degree from Newman University as an early years specialist and I have been teaching at St Joseph’s for 6 years. I love teaching phonics and watching the children grasp their early reading skills. I am also staff governor here at school. Outside of work I enjoy taking my daughter on days out, seeing friends and family as well as spending time at our cottage in Devon.
